The traditions of the Algarve’s interior can be discovered at the Feira da Serra de Loulé, hosted at the NERA pavilion, Zona Industrial de Loulé, from December 7 to 10. There will be more than 100 stalls featuring the wares of local artisans and producers, but the focus of this year’s fair will be one of the Algarve’s greatest natural riches – cork.

Eigth years  after it was first hosted in Vilamoura, one of the most important events in the golfing sector, the International Golf Travel Market, may return to the Algarve. An application to host the event in 2008 has been presented to the president of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), Peter Walton, by the president of the Algarve Tourism Board, Hélder Martins and the president of the Algarve Golf Association, António da Silva.

Taking advantage of New Year’s Eve falling on a weekend, Albufeira Câmara has announced three days of festivities including some very special live music.On December 29, André Sardet will play songs from his double platinum selling album Acústico (Acoustic) in the Largo Eng. Duarte Pacheco from 10pm.

Until July 2007, four pavilions, with a total area of 5700m2 will be installed in Faro, next to the Municipal Swimming Pools, to receive various fairs, starting with that of Algardecor on 30th of this month. All the fairs form part of an initiative named ExpoFaro, which was today presented by the Faro local authority.

The traditions of the interior of the region retur to the Pavilion of NERA in Loulé, between 7th and 10th December. This is the 2006 edition of the Feira da Serra (Mountain Fair), which this year highlights cork as "one of the greatest riches of the Algarvian mountains".
