The church of São Lourenço of Almancil is known in all Europe. Its walls are covered with azulejos (of 1730) white and blue until the height of the cupola. The squares tell the life of saint Laurent.
The São Lourenço church is considered one of the best examples of Baroque art in the Algarve.
