Throughout the month of September the acclaimed Algarve Orchestra will be playing a series of open-air concerts around the region. All concerts will begin at 21h00 and end at 23h00. Wednesday September 6th will see the large ensemble playing in the open-air on Quarteira's Calçadão (main walkway), followed by another open-air performance on Silves' riverfront, on the 7th. September 8th will take the orchestra to Lagos' cultural centre, and on the 15th to Tavira's Carmo church, where they will be giving a rendition of ‘The Four Seasons'.
On 16th September, they will be charming audiences in Vila Real Santo António Marquês de Pombal Square (which will start slightly earlier at 18h00), and on the 20th the Orchestra will be playing an open-air recital in the beautiful setting of the Estoi Milreu ruins (which will also start at the slightly earlier time of 19h00 – date to be confirmed). On September 21st the group will be heading down to the opposite end of the Algarve to perform in Vila do Bispo, in the Municipal Auditorium. The series will conclude with a performance in Lagoa's municipal auditorium, with a selection of solo piano recitals. |
