The Algarve Tourism Board (RTA) and several local câmaras are present at the Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary, to promote the best the Algarve has to offer. A new, more colourful stand has been set up by the RTA to better illustrate the many ‘products’ that the Algarve has to offer its visitors.
The stand is complemented by a bar, a meetings room, a multimedia area and a multipurpose space for presentations taking place during the five days the fair is being held.
For Algarve câmaras, the annual fair is also a unique opportunity to promote the region’s historical and architectural heritage, the rural traditions and local gastronomy, as well as its beautiful coastline.
Faro Câmara is taking this opportunity to promote the old, historical city, but also its cultural calendar, through the Teatro das Figuras programme, under the slogan “Faro is a city to love”.
Albufeira Câmara opted for a more dynamic stand, with multimedia presentations of the tourist offer in what is one of the most popular destinations among tourists in the region.
The forthcoming carnival festivities are illustrated in the Loulé Câmara stand, which is inviting visitors to the most famous carnival parade organised in the Algarve region. The stand is also offering many of the typical products available in the region such as liqueurs and traditional sweets.
As the most important event for the tourism sector in Portugal, BTL is also making a name for itself in the international calendar of tourism fairs, this year with three new countries attending the international area: Slovenia, Japan and Uruguay.
The fair, which is spread over four large pavilions, is taking place at the International Fairs Complex in the modern Expo area on the north east side of Lisbon. |
