Chinese circus at the Algarve Stadium |

The shows by the National Acrobatic Circus of Beijing – who topped the
bill at the last international festival of Montecarlo – are part of an
event entitled "Noites do Oriente” (Nights from the Orient) organised
by the Faro and Loulé local authorities, with the aim of attracting
entertainment to the Parque das Cidades, especially the Algarve
Stadium, a facility which cost over 30 million euros.
With scenes from the ancient culture of China and legendary oriental
figures, this show give the art of circus a different dimension,
involving the talents of the members of the Acrobatic Group of
Guangzhou in a special way.
The event, which will be presented today by the Association of
Municipalities of Loulé and Faro, is part of the two councils’ summer
programming for the Algarve venue. The Beijing circus will join the event Algarve Rocks 2006 (28th
July), at which Simple Minds, Sean Paul and Pitty will be performing
and also the Fair of Hunting, Fishing and the Rural World (7th, 8th and 9th July) during which the romantic Portuguese singer Tony Carreira will be on stage.
