This event about the sea and nautical activities runs between 1st and 5th March in the Jardim Pescador of Olhão.
The Municipal Council of Olhão and Fesnima are preparin the 3rd edition of EXPOMAR - Fair of the Sea and Nautical Activities. The event, which every year brings thousands of visitors to the capital of the Ria Formosa, opens its doors between 1st and 5th March.

Considered as a reference point in the area of nautical and fishing activities and reflecting the essence of the Council of Olhão, EXPOMAR intends exending this year the offer and is increasing the number of stands. In all, there will be 150 stands which represent the most diverse areas such as fishing and aquaculture, to sports fishing, leisure boats, maritime heritage, equipments, camping and caravanning, sporting equipment and representatives from the aquatic sports and various regional institutions.

In addition to the exhibition aspect, there will be an educational angle in three exhibitions and colloquys about the theme of the sea. This year there will be on the table of EXPOMAR themes such as the “Sustentabilidade na Fileira das Pescas” ("Sustainability in the Ranks of Fishing"), the “Turismo de natureza na área do PNRF” ("Nature Tourism in the area of the PNRF"), the “Diversificação da actividade pesqueira” ("Diversification of the Fishing Activity"), "Aquacultura na Ria Formosa”

("Aquaculture in the Ria Formosa"), "Processos e Riscos Costeiros" ("Processes and Coastal Risks") and "Tecnologias Aplicadas à Invetigação dos Mares" ("Applied Technologies in the Investigation of the Sea").

Together with all this, there are also to be local crafts and various shows which fill the agenda of animation.
