A former water park will serve as the setting for one of the most eagerly awaited parties of the Algarve summer. The organisers promise music until dawn. The Austrians Makossa & Megablast will be topping the bill for the second staging of Algarve First Face, which this year will be held at the disused water park Aqualine in Castro Marim, on 28th July.
It will be the first time that the highly regarded duo will be performing their fusion of African rhythms and electronic beats to Portuguese audiences, the style they are known for internationally on the dance music scene.
The organisers promise plenty of volume and varied entertainment from 4 pm till dawn, with a strong line up which, in addition to the Austrians, will include the DJs Ari, Toby One, António Cunha, Daniel D, Dustin and Pargana, with styles ranging from chill-out, dub, and house to electro. Video projection will be in the hands of the Threesome Project.
The link with art is one of the key concepts of the party, as happened at the first event in Quinta do Lago, through an exhibition of works by fine artists from the region inside the precinct. For this, a partnership was formed with AAPA, the Algarve Association of Fine Artists.
João Viegas, fine artist and in charge of the agency First Face, told the Algarve Observer that they were committed to the enrichment of cultural events in the eastern Algarve, and in attracting new audiences.
The event will have three distinct areas, including a main stage with a spacious dance floor, a bar area and another with restaurants.
João Viegas said that it will be a kind of hybrid space with aspects of a water park, a gallery and a discotheque, where you will be able to enjoy the sunset with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.
