VILA REAL de Santo António is to host the first international theatre festival in the Algarve from March 3 to April 1.
The borough has a long tradition of theatre and, while the council would like to preserve this, it also plans to develop it further by pioneering this international festival that will include not only national performers but also theatre companies from abroad.

Oficina de Teatro Fech’Opano for the organisation of the programme representing an investment of 33,000 euros by Vila Real de Santo António Câmara.
The festival opens today (March 3) with the A Gaveta theatre group, who will be presenting two pieces, one aimed at children and another for the public in general.
This festival stands out from others, due to the diversity of the programme that offers something for all tastes.
