Albufeira welcomes between 23rd and 30th September the 5th Gastronomic Festival organised by the local authority, this year featuring 17 participating restaurants, which registers the "highest participation ever".

These restaurants are: A Lagosteira, O Laranjal, São Domingos, Marinheiro, Moiras Encantadas, Miraparque, O Pinhal, Casa da Avó, Veneza, Casa Velha, Três Palmeiras, Tavertinos, Guia Atlântico, Donaldos, Os Cunhados, Paraíso do Algarve, e A Vila.

The fish and shellfish will be the main feature of the dishes, in an event whose objective is to promote and publicise gastronomy, the restaurants and the municipality itself.

Various artists will provide entertainment in some of the restaurants during the week: José Praia and Água Viva, Helena Fava and Dinis Mateus, Zé Maria and Sofia & Ana Alberto.
