The event "Academia de Golfe" will allow, during the first three weekends of August, all those who wish to learn golf, to do so on 15 different beaches of the western and eastern Algarve. The initiative is part of the "PortugAllSummer" and is to be run in co-operation with the Conselho Nacional da Indústria do Golfe (National Council of the Golf Industry).

This action has as its principal objective "the publicising of the sport to the Portuguese on holiday in the Algarve. The beaches will be animated with installations pertaining to golf, offering the public the opportunity of having their first contact with this sport", states the communications company LPMcom.

Those interested in learning the basic principles of golf can register at the beaches, from 09.00 to 16.00hrs, after which they will have a free initiation lesson of one hour, duly accompanied by a qualified professional, on one of the 15 golf courses integrated in the "Academia de Golfe". The lessons will run between 17.00 and 19.00hrs on the following golf courses:

31 July - Meia Praia (Lagos), Palmares

1 August - Salema (Lagos), Boavista

2 August - Três Irmãos (Alvor), Palmares

3 August - Rocha (Portimão), Vale do Milho

4 August - Carvoeiro (Carvoeiro), Vale do Milho

7 August - Armação de Pêra, Vale do Milho

8 August - S. Rafael, Millennium

9 August - Falésia, Laguna

10 August - Vilamoura, Millennium

11 August - Quarteira, Laguna

14 August - Vale do Lobo, Vale do Lobo

15 August - Ancão, Vale do Lobo

16 August - Quinta do Lago, Quinta do Lago

17 August - Barril, Quinta da Ria

18 August - Montegordo, Quinta da Ria
