The “unblocking” of the tourism project “Conrad, Palácio de Valverde, Resort & Spa” is regarded as an “example to follow” by the executive committee of the Algarve Tourism Board (RTA). In a statement, the executive committee of the RTA said that the government’s decision ensures that the upgrading of the provision of hotel facilities in the region will continue.
Something they are very pleased about, and at the same time it serves
as an example for the other projects that are still blocked. The Imocom project has been in the queue for two years, but now the hotel, which will be managed by the American chain Hilton, can go ahead following the approval by the Council of Ministers of the regulatory decree which provides for the partial suspension of the Municipal Planning Instrument in Loulé, with the project being classified as a PIN, a project of national interest.
According to the executive commission of the RTA, the construction of the “Conrad, Palácio de Valverde, Resort & Spa” is very important for attracting big international brands to the Algarve, such as Hilton, who will confer the top of the range brand name “Conrad” on the luxury hotel.
The “Conrad, Palácio de Valverde, Resort & Spa” is divided into a top class hotel with 160 rooms, and a complex of 115 luxury apartments, representing a total investment of 89 million euros.
The design of the hotel will be similar to that of a palace and the hotel’s facilities will include a spa, which could be as big as a thousand square metres, and private areas with themed gardens.
