For the fourth consecutive year the Sheraton Algarve Hotel and Pine Cliffs Resort has won the World Tourism Award for the 4th Consecutive Year for Portugal's Leading Golf Resort, presented on Tuesday evening at the World Travel Awards Europe & Green ceremony, held at the Newcastle Gateshead Hotel, in the UK. This is the Resort's 6th World Travel Award since 2001, voted by travel professionals from around the globe. This year, the voting campaign reached a total of 167,000 travel professionals worldwide, including more than 110,000 travel agents.
Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the 'travel industry's equivalent to the Oscars', the World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and prestigious awards programme in the global travel industry today, highly regarded as the forum that serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the enormous achievements attained in all sectors of this industry.
