Although charismatic front man Jim Morrison died
in 1971, the rest of the band has continued to perform around the world
under the name Riders on the Storm. As part of a programme of
concerts organised by Allgarve Edition, the Waterboys will also be
playing in the Algarve this summer. The group famous for The whole of
the moon will be playing at the Vilamoura rugby club on August 11.
The band will be performing both classic Waterboys songs and new tracks from their latest album Book of Lightening.
Money
from ticket sales will be donated to a number of Algarve-based
charities including Existir, an Almancil based charity to help the
homeless and disabled in the area, and Refúgio Aboim Ascensão, the
children’s refuge in Faro.
