Guests of the Vila Sol Algarve, a Renaissance Spa & Golf Resort can chose from 140 garden/deluxe rooms, 45 garden suites, three master suites, one Presidential Suite as well as 86 self-catering apartments, 44 of which are new.  Rooms and suites have Renaissance-standard plush bedding and bath linens and amenities, and self-catering apartments have fully equipped kitchens, spacious living room, terrace or balcony and a view of the gardens or pool.

Close to Nature: Vila Sol SPA

At the heart of the resort is the Vila Sol SPA, which transports guests into a spiritual state or harmony and balance, beginning as they enter through botanical gardens and experience the natural treatments and relaxing atmosphere.  All Spa treatments appeal to the senses, using products as close to nature as possible to ease body and mind. The line of services includes a full range of hydrotherapy treatments, skin care and body treatments, massages and manual therapies.  Facilities covering 15,000 sq. ft., include 22 treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, vitamin bar, private salon area, an Aquamedic pool and a traditional Hammam.

Championship Golf, Year-Round

The resort features one of the finest 27-hole championship golf courses in Vilamoura – known as the largest golf resort area in Europe. Designed by Donald Steel, the Vila Sol golf course has been ingeniously integrated into the beautiful natural surroundings with inspiring distant views. With three loops of 9-holes, the Prime, Challenge and Prestige course each delivers a separate and distinct type of game.

Vila Sol Golf has twice played host to the Portuguese Open, in 1992 and 1993. It was honoured by the Green Globe organisation in 1996 with the Green Flag award, certification of meeting their environmental requirements. In 2001 it won the prize for Best Golf Development, presented by British MP Sir Eric Pickles.

In addition, the Vila Sol Golf Academy – with four putting greens, two bunkers and several tees for different levels – is one of the best facilities in Portugal, located in a fully grassed area surrounded by pines and water falls approximately 300 meters away from the Vila Sol Clubhouse.

Other leisure amenities include an indoor swimming pool with a whirlpool, a fitness center, two additional swimming pools, a kids club and two tennis courts. At the “Solito” Kids Club, professionally trained staff supervise a number of leisure and sport activities for children between the ages of 4-12.  In an outside playground area, children hunt for treasure, participate in painting workshops and enjoy traditional games.  A play room close to the lobby is available for older children.
