Wine-tasting course in the Algarve |
|
The Fraternity of Gastronomes of the Algarve (CGA), will produce a Wine Tasting course in Faro on 9th, 16th and 30th September.
This initiative counts on the support of the Hotel and Tourism
School of the Algarve (EHTA) and the collaboration of Orlando Iglésias,
a renowned oenologist.
"Discover, whilst having fun, the secrets of one of the most emblematic
products of the Portuguese culture: wine. Delve into the knowledge,
until now the preserve of the specialists, of the world of history,
science and art which surround the marvellous wines of the different
regions of Portugal", suggest the CGA.
Under the orientation of Orlando Iglésias (ex-President of the
Association of Sommeliers of Portugal), some of the best wines of the
country can be tasted.
"How can the wines of our principal houses and regions be
distinguished in a tasting? And that associations can be made with
Portuguese gastronomy? What are the best suggestions of the year for my
wine store?" are some of the questions that the participants can
discover.
The total course time is 16 hours, to run on 9th and 16th from
9.30 to 13.30hrs and on 30th in the morning and afternoon, with a
dinner at the end of the course, where certificates of participation
signed by the fraternity and EHTA will be given.
The price of the course, including wines for the tasting and
dinner, will be 150 euros. For further information (and given that
there are only 15 spaces available), e-mail to
