Jazz in Loulé: McCoy Tyner side by side with Joe Lovano

Two jazz monsters, McCoy Tyner and Joe Lovano, will meet on stage at the XVI Festival Internacional de Jazz de Loulé. Highlights also to the Talking Cows, the Time Out and Bojan Z.The Festival International de Jazz de Loulé presents this year a milestone in the history of jazz: McCoy Tyner sided by the saxophonist Joe Lovano, in a concert scheduled for July 31, at 22.00, in Praça Duarte Pacheco. The duo will be backed by Gerald Cannon on bass and Eric Gravatt on drums.

First Algarve International Book Festival

Between Thursday 16th and Sunday 19th September lovers of all forms of literature can join in this feast of the written word called Lit.ALGARVE. The languages spoken will be either English, Portuguese or German and many well known writers have already accepted invitations to travel to the Festival to do book signings, readings of their works, hold workshops and talk about their craft. Loulé most populated Algarve municipality

Loulé is the most heavily populated council area in the Algarve, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The municipality had a total of 66,085 inhabitants in 2009, putting it ahead of Faro with 58,675 and Portimão with 50,454 residents. Vale do Lobo: Property owners raise thousands for Algarve charities

More than 35,000 euros was raised for local charities during the 11th annual Wolf Valley Charity Fund (WVCF) golf and family day held on June 5 in Vale do Lobo.
