First Algarve International Book Festival

Loulé most populated Algarve municipality
Loulé, AlgarveLoulé is the most heavily populated council area in the Algarve, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The municipality had a total of 66,085 inhabitants in 2009, putting it ahead of Faro with 58,675 and Portimão with 50,454 residents. Mário Leston Bandeira, a demographer and sociology teacher at the Institute of Labour and Business (ISCTE) said: "Loulé has a great deal of dynamism and a number of areas where many foreign residents live, including Vilamoura.

Vale do Lobo: Property owners raise thousands for Algarve charities
Wolf Valley charity fundMore than 35,000 euros was raised for local charities during the 11th annual Wolf Valley Charity Fund (WVCF) golf and family day held on June 5 in Vale do Lobo. During the event guests were able to take part in two raffles, buy items from the book and cake stalls, play on the bouncy castle and admire a display of racing and sports cars. Golfers took part in competitions on both the Ocean and Royal courses, with 152 players taking to the greens and fairways with the chance for participants to win one of two cars if they were lucky enough to get a hole in one,
