Picture Portugal, the company who will manage the "cine-city" in the Algarve, is in contact with American studios like Fox, Paramount and Warner Brothers to try to attract investment for this project. "We are in process of contacting large studios to see if they want to invest," said to Lusa Carlos Mattos, owner of CDM Interactive, a company provider of equipment for filming and performances that has won two Oscars in Hollywood. Carlos Mattos, the project consultant for Picture Portugal has been using his contacts in the American film industry to "open doors" in the studios. |

The new Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve, Algarve International Karting circuit, have hosted a national championship kart race last weekend. The Rotax Max Challenge race have marked the kart circuit opening, last Sunday, with three Algarvian pilots in competition - Sérgio Sousa, Ruben Miguel and Tomás Apolónia. “It was an honour to open this new complex, but we where focused on the winning, since it was an unknown track for all the team members” said Sérgio Sousa. |

 Sir Cliff Richard will launch his own brand of sparkling wine to mark his upcoming 70th birthday. The pop veteran, who will reach the milestone age on 14 October (2010), owns a vineyard in Portugal's Algarve region called Adega do Cantor, which translates as Winery of the Singer. Richard already produces a number of different drinks at the state-of-the-art estate under his Vida Nova brand and now he is creating his first sparkling rose to celebrate his landmark birthday. |
