Loulé Carnival: The World of Show Business |
The city of Loulé will once again be the centre stage for glorious Carnival celebrations on 14th, 15th and 16th of February. Being one of the largest and oldest Carnival parades in the country, the parade has a different theme each year, this year’s being ‘The World of Show Business’. Thousands of revellers will meet at the José Costa Mealha Avenue between 3pm and 6pm to watch the parade of fifteen allegoric floats, entertainment groups, samba schools and giant puppets to share in the general feeling of joy.Themes related to traditional Fado, Illusionism, Ballet, Samba or Flamenco will provide an array of colours to the floats and outfits. The artists’ creativity and originality will contribute towards the colourful celebrations. As always, political, social and sport satire will keep the crowds entertained. Having taken place every year for the last 104 years, the Loulé Carnival is an event not to be missed as it is the region’s, and maybe the country’s, biggest attraction during the low season, attracting thousands of revellers for three days of constant partying. Entry to the event costs €2. source: http://www.the-news.net
