Quarteira hosts African music and culture
African musicQuarteira will host the ninth FestAfrica, an Algarve festival of African music and culture at Praça do Mar from 10pm on 23 July. Organised by the Friendship Association of Portuguese speaking African Countries in the Algarve (APALGAR), with support from Loulé Town Hall and Quarteira Parish Council, the event is aimed at African residents as well as Portuguese and foreign residents and tourists in the region.

Music and dance will be the highlights of the event with performances on stage by organist Quim Gonçalves, the Grupo de Capoeira Contemporânea, the APALGAR Dance Group, the Tropical Girls dance group, and keyboard player Julião Moçambicano.

Entrance to the festival is free.
