The Algarve Orchestra with conductor Alvaro Cassuto intruduces Ching-Yun Hu on piano. This concert will fill the Teatro das Figuras, Faro, and the Lagoa Municipal Auditorium over two nights as part of "Allgarve11" on 13th and 14th May at 21.30, with Mozart and Beethoven on the program. Ching-Yun Hu has performed in major music centres worldwide - Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center - and made his debut aged 17, with the Philadelphia Orchestra.The pianist, who joined by Bertnstein Seymour, Richard Goode, Murray Perahia and Vásáry Tamas, take the stage in the company of the Orchestra of the Algarve, 17 musicians who gained prominence in 2007, having been invited to play in a concert in celebration of the signing of the Treaty of Lisbon. The orchestra will be directed over the two nights by Alvaro Cassuto, who has a great track record in the post of artistic director and chief conductor of five foreign orchestras, including the National Orchestra of New York. To all these names, add the composers Joly Braga Santos, Mozart and Beethoven, to fill the room with a program of works including Concerto for Piano No. 9 in E flat Major, K. 271 and Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op 36, respectively. Ticket prices range between €12 (Theatre of Figures 1. Nd audience) and €10 (Lagoa Municipal Auditorium and Theater of Figures 2. Nd audience).
