The water presently stored in the reservoirs of the Algarve is
sufficient for all, today guaranteed the Administrator-delegate of the
Águas do Algarve, in a press conference, as reported by the Lusa
Agency.
The water is "more than sufficient" to supply the region,
assured Artur Ribeiro. 80 million cubic metres of waters are held,
resulting from the rains in the last quarter of 2005. |

International Association of Golf Tours Operators (IAGTO) has selected
the Algarve as the best golf destination of 2006, in front of other
regions such as California, Dubai or Andalucía (Spain).
According to the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), the distinction
«Established Golf Destination of the Year 2006» was announced during
the IAGTO Award Gala Dinner at Las Palmas (Spain).

the Algarve hotels and resorts association, calling his attention to

DEVELOPERS OF the new Ferragudo Marina
want to increase the project to cover all the areas on that bank of
the River Arade. According to a report in Portuguese newspaper
Barlavento, they believe that the abandoned land, which is currently
full of rubbish, should be used to create parks and leisure areas,
making the zone surrounding the marina and Pavilhão do Arade
(congress centre) more attractive.
