To commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Samuel Beckett, the Olga Roriz Company brings us “Daqui em Diante”, inspired by the brilliant text “Worstward Ho” by the same writer. Individuals characterised by solitude and emptiness, subtle humour, sadness, tenderness and the cruel beauty of reality, these are the elements in this search for a place, the same ones that awake the desire not to miss this production.

Come and travel with us to times past and see how the people of Lagos lived, thought and entertained themselves in the 12th and 13th centuries. The Lagos Municipal Council, the Municipal Discoveries Committee and the Municipal Tourism Committee help you to embark on this journey, by keeping alive the traces of the past, and the culture and flavours of the city, in the fourth staging of this Festival of the Discoveries.

Faro atrium, the new shopping centre and cinema complex due to open in Rua de Santo António in downtown Faro, is expected to open by the end of this year, if all goes to plan. There has been some confusion surrounding the opening of Faro Atrium as, according to the President of Faro Câmara, José Apolinário, the centre was scheduled to open in September this year.

The 2006 Better Living in Portugal exhibition (BLiP) will be held at the Parque das Feiras (ExpoArade) site in Portimão on October 14 and 15. The exhibition, which was conceived by AFPOP, aims to bring together a wealth of information, products and services, which show that it really is Better Living in Portugal.

Albufeira welcomes between 23rd and 30th September the 5th Gastronomic Festival organised by the local authority, this year featuring 17 participating restaurants, which registers the "highest participation ever".
